‘We have an unprecedented opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful resorts in the Alps!’

About

For Agnès, who is working as a ski instructor, the sensation of pleasure prevails!

Agnès comes from Annecy and has been teaching skiing to children in French and in English for 36 years. She started instructing during school holidays, driven by her love for teaching and by her desire to pass on her love for skiing and for the mountains. She decided to continue on this path, which appealed her.

When teaching, Agnès tries to pinpoint her customers’ needs and expectations at best and to build a climate of trust with them. But above anything else, her very first aim is communicating her enthusiasm to her learners, so that they really have fun skiing. Agnès has kept wonderful memories over these years of teaching. She especially recalls the smile of a disabled child after she introduced him to skiing. His parents were very proud of his improvements. She also remembers a four years-old boy, overprotected by his family, who really surpassed himself during his week of skiing.

Agnès discovered the resort of Tignes thanks to her aunt, who lived there. This instructor first worked in a hotel of the resort, while skiing during her free time with her family. She then became part of the ESF of the resort, a ski school she considers as being professional and which conveys its love for mountains and which has a strong knowledge. She works there with as much passion as when she started, and feels as much amazed by this place, by the landscapes the skiing area offers, especially the slope of Grattalu, where she likes practicing telemark.

Agnès started skiing when she was three and immediately loved the sensations conveyed by sliding; whether speed, accelerations, or changes of pace; for this instructor, when skiing, 'you take a lungful of fresh air within spectacular landscapes. You do sport, but the sensation of pleasure prevails.’ Agnès participated in a few races, among which the Coupe de France des Médecins, which she won several times. She then started teaching in the ESF of Arêches-Beaufort before Tignes.

Apart from teaching, she also works as a marketing consultant and makes jewellery made of metal threads she sells on Grenoble Christmas Market, where she owns a chalet. Although these are her main activities, Agnès still teaches a week per year during school holidays to rediscover the resort’s good atmosphere.
