‘Tignes Le Lac: dynamic, adaptable, professional’

About

According to Pierre, the best way of giving skiing lessons is by juggling between mastery and pleasure.

Pierre started skiing when he was 18 and immediately loved this sport. He especially likes off-piste skiing and enjoying a nice day with his friends on powder snow. He then took part in competitions and won a few victories before teaching within the ESF which, for him, reflects rigour, professionalism, tradition and dynamism. Driven by prestige and because he needed money during his studies, Pierre started teaching in the resort of Tignes, 16 years ago. He discovered this resort with his sports club, through trainings for competitions. Since then, he has been teaching off-piste skiing, telemark as well as snowboarding in French and in English. He focuses on a dynamic and friendly pedagogy, between mastery and pleasure. Over the years, he has only kept wonderful memories, especially a group of ‘class 1’ adults in Club Med, which improved a lot, and with whom he finished by a full day.

For Pierre, who comes from Paris, the slope of Palafour in Tignes is one of the most beautiful in the world, along with Kitzbühel in Austria, La Verte des Houches, as well as Double M. He had the opportunity to experience these slopes during skiing expeditions. This instructor also had the chance to ski in Argentina, on a slope he found atypical, ‘with a different snow quality and original landscapes’.

Concurrently to skiing, Pierre works as a primary school teacher, an occupation which also allows him to share his knowledge. In addition to skiing, Pierre is passionate about other sports, such as surfing, handball and hiking.
