For Pierre, who grew up within the resort, teaching in Tignes seemed obvious!

This season, Pierre Schmidt has started teaching alpine skiing and snowboarding in Tignes, the resort where he grew up. His lessons- provided in French as well as in English- focus on his pleasure to transmit his passion for this activity. Actually, Pierre learnt how to ski in Tignes and his desire is to communicate his pleasure for skiing and the wonderful memories he had the opportunity to collect throughout his experience. He is now teaching within ESF, just like many members of his family; for him, the ski school conveys both professionalism and pleasure for skiing. For Pierre, working as a ski instructor in Tignes is everyday a real pleasure! He especially enjoys sliding on Trolles because of its technical nature, but also on Genépi for its wild character. For Pierre, the most beautiful slopes in the world are those used for World Cups!

Pierre started skiing when he was two years old- in other words, since always! From that day, he cannot stop skiing more than three weeks; it even became ‘an addiction’. He then participated in competitions and in 2017 he even became French Vice University Champion in giant and European Vice University Champion. These competitions and his experience gave him the opportunity to ski abroad, especially in Austria, Slovakia, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic and Italia. According to him, skiing is dedicated to sports fans in all these countries!

Apart from skiing, Paul generally likes outdoor sports, such as cycling, motorbiking, golfing and tennis.
