‘Sport itself is my passion’

About

For Nicolas, teaching means above all transmitting a passion!

Nicolas Messiez was born in Tignes and has been teaching mogul and freestyle skiing in this charming resort for two months now. He speaks French and English and has always wanted to transmit his passion for sliding to others. As he always had good relationships with Tignes, he seized the opportunity to teach there, and especially within the ESF, where he can pass on his knowledge, thus combining a work that he loves with a passion that has always driven him.

Nicolas first put his skis on at the age of three. He then joined the sports club in alpine skiing before practicing mogul skiing at 12. Nicolas took part in a few competitions, during which he won the European Cup. He even finished 8th during World Junior Championships.

What he likes is the impression of freedom conveyed by skiing, but also the scenery that surrounds him. Whenever Nicolas skies, he knows that he is about to take pleasure and that he will definitely have fun. The place where he prefers practising his favourite sport is La Combe Folle in Tignes; he also appreciated skiing on the slope of Bellevarde.

In order not to get tired of this sport, Nicolas alternates his passions by practicing a second occupation, namely, carpenter. He discovered this job after he started skiing, and likes it as much. Concerning physical activities, Nicolas considers sport itself as a passion, but in addition to skiing, he also has a fondness for skateboarding!
