About

For Frédéric, skiing has immediately seemed simple and amusing. He is now eager to communicate this feeling of ease to each of his learners!

When he was about one year-old, Frédéric Ribaud took his first steps with skis on in the family garden. He then extended the discovery of this sport in St-Nizier (Vercors) and thanks to the sports club in the works council of his father's establishment. Concurrently, Frédéric took part in competitions at regional level from 8 to 18, years over which he was rewarded by several trophies.

For him, skiing quickly became something simple and which he never stopped. Later, Frédéric had the opportunity to teach and experience skiing abroad, especially in Switzerland, Italy and in the United States, places where he could perfect his English while appreciating wonderful slopes. However, his favourite ones remain in France; Sache in Tignes, L’Aiguille Rouge in Arcs, the Vallons de la Meije, Sarenne in Alpes d’Huez and the Grands Montets in Chamonix are for him among the five most beautiful slopes in the world.

It is with his head full of memories and wonderful experiences that Frédéric became a ski instructor within ESF in the resort of Tignes, which for him embodies tradition and brotherhood. This instructor came from Grenoble and was looking for a human size and technically demanding ski resort with international links. This is how he ended up in Tignes, a resort where he appreciates skiing, especially on La Sache, his favourite slope, which he finds beautiful, long and challenging, and which offers good snow quality.

Backed by 37 years of experience and his will to transmit his pleasure for skiing, Frédéric has been teaching alpine, cross-country and off-piste skiing. In addition to this occupation, he is also a mountain bike trainer. He also likes surfing, kitesurfing and the sea in the summer. Frédéric is keen on travels; he even carried out an expedition in Alaska to practice hiking, heli skiing, skiing and… and skiing again, of course!
