‘You can ski for 30 years in Tignes and still be amazed by this resort!’

About

Jean-Luc immediately became passionate about skiing and never stopped practicing!

Jean-Luc comes from Martinique and speaks French, English and Spanish. He has been teaching the traditional practice of skiing for 29 years to adults and children. Passionate about skiing, he makes the most of his occupation and likes showing a summit to his learners and assuring them they will be able to ski it down before the end of the week. As a matter of fact, this instructor keeps nice memories from his lessons. He especially recalls a mixed group of English and French skiers; the atmosphere was excellent, and he could notice a real improvement.

For all these years, this instructor has forged emotional links within the resort, which he discovered thanks to a friend in 1981, and especially through the slopes of Grattalu and La Grande Motte, his favourite ones. Jean-Luc really likes the resort in which he works and identifies with the values of the ESF, that is to say ‘respect, quality of teaching and good customers’, as he likes describing.

Jean-Luc learnt skiing when he was eight and immediately fell under the spell of this sport, which he practices off-piste. He also took part in competitions at regional level, and even participated in a competition in Austria. Jean-Luc then taught skiing in other countries, an experience which allowed him to discover other types of management and organisation, different from those he already knows. Over his experience, he had the opportunity to discover many slopes; yet, this lover of winter landscapes places La Face de Bellevarde among the most beautiful slopes in the world.

Apart from skiing, Jean-Luc is also a mathematics teacher, a plane instructor and a sailing trainer. He also loves music, mountain biking and aviation.
